Introduction
The Aurum Institute is offering a great opportunity to suitably qualified and experienced staff to contribute towards our mission to improve the health of people and communities through innovation in Health Research and Systems. We are focused on research, support and implementing integrated approaches to managing TB and HIV. Graduate Intern: Community Engagement
The objective of this position is to execute the tasks that support the research work at Tembisa Clinic 4 by recruiting and tracing volunteers/participants and engaging with stakeholders in our catchment communities (Alexandra and Tembisa and surrounds).

Responsibilities
Help develop and execute recruitment plan
Recruit volunteers for clinical trials in the catchment areas
Capture and update database on participants details
Keep in regular contact with the participants for retention and tracing during trial
Ensure that participants are well informed of the trial and any developments
Any other duties that might be allocated from time to time depending on the needs of the clinic and competency of the individual

Requirements
Education
Degree/Diploma in Social Sciences or aligned qualifications

Requirements
Have knowledge of the geography of the catchment areas (an in-depth knowledge will be advantageous)
Advanced communications skills (Colloquially spoken languages in the catchment is mandatory)
Community engagement experience highly preferable
Good writing skills
Advanced computer skills
Analytical and empathetic
Aware of cultural and social economic landscape
Ability to work in the community with limited support
A driver’s license is mandatory
