Are you ready to advance human rights and racial justice on a global stage? The Fully Funded United Nations Fellowship 2026 for People of African Descent offers a powerful chance for individuals from the African diaspora to train in Geneva, Switzerland. Hosted by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), this program builds skills to fight racism and promote rights in your community.

What Is the Fellowship Programme?

This intensive training targets people of African descent who work to protect their community’s rights. It happens once a year at the OHCHR in Geneva. Participants learn about international human rights law, UN systems, and tools to combat racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia, and related issues.

The program started in 2011 under the OHCHR Anti-Racial Discrimination Section. It gained support from UN General Assembly resolutions, including A/RES/69/16 and the recent A/RES/79/193, which launched the Second International Decade for People of African Descent from 2025 to 2034. Over 169 fellows from 54 countries, such as Argentina, Brazil, Canada, and the United States, have joined since then.
