Thrive Grant 2026: Up to $30,000 for Plant-Based Food Systems

Organizations around the world have a new chance to get funding for better food systems. The Thrive Grant 2026 offers up to $30,000 USD to groups working on plant-based foods and ways to replace industrial animal farming. This grant comes from Thrive Philanthropy and targets nonprofits outside the United States.

About the Thrive Grant

Thrive Philanthropy runs this grant to support changes in global food systems. It helps groups that cut back on factory farming and push for more plant-rich diets. The focus is on mid-size or larger nonprofits with a proven record of success in their areas.

Key goals include speeding up options to industrial animal agriculture, building sustainable plant-based food systems, raising awareness of healthy plant foods, and making nutritious options more available. The grant also stresses fairness and welcomes projects led by women, people of color, or groups from marginalized communities.

Funding Amounts

Grants range from $10,000 to $30,000 USD. This money can go toward projects, awareness campaigns, education programs, or community efforts for plant-based foods. Most awards go to past grantees, but new groups can apply if they meet the rules.

Application Deadlines for 2026

You can apply four times a year on a rolling cycle. Submit by 11:59 PM GMT on these dates:

• December 1

Expect a response within eight weeks after each deadline.

Who Can Apply

Nonprofits outside the United States can apply, as long as they are not branches of US groups. You need a good reputation in your community, follow Thrive’s Safe Space Policy, and work on plant-based systems or alternatives to animal farming. Groups with budgets under $500,000 USD get priority.

Thrive encourages applications from women, people of color, and underrepresented groups.

Note for Africa-Based Groups

Africa sees many applications, so rules are stricter. Only apply if you have an official invite or are a past grantee. Others should join the Thrive Africa Accelerator for networking, training, and better chances at future grants. Do not send uninvited applications from Africa.

Some ideas do not qualify. No funding for animal welfare, lab-grown meat, politics, for-profits, food banks, animal farming, leather products, student research, US projects, or gardening not tied to cutting factory farm demand.
