The Sasol Mainstream Bursary Programme 2027 covers tuition, accommodation, and other costs. It also provides mentorship and development support. Undergraduate Degrees (BEng or BSc)

- Chemical Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Electronic Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Mining Engineering
- Metallurgical Engineering
- Chemistry (up to Honours)
- Geology (up to Honours)
- Data Science (includes Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Operations Research)
For BEng Tech, only Mine Surveying at a University of Technology.
Postgraduate Degrees (MSc, MEng, or PhD)
Options include:
- Chemical Engineering (topics like Fluid Dynamics, Thermodynamics, or Process Modelling)
- Chemistry (Catalysis, Polymer Science, Environmental Science, or Analytical Chemistry)
- Cyber Security
- Data Science (Applied Mathematics or Statistics)
Minimum Requirements
To qualify, meet these basics:
- South African citizen
- Under 30 years old
- Plan full-time study at a recognised South African university
- Strong academic record, with Mathematics (not Maths Literacy)
Distance learning like UNISA does not count. Only degree programmes work, no diplomas.
