About the NARYSEC Programme

The National Rural Youth Service Corps (NARYSEC) fights youth unemployment in rural communities. It mixes leadership development, community service, skills training, and work readiness. Youth who join take part in a 9-week leadership program, community work, and SAQA-accredited courses at TVET colleges or providers.

Available Training Opportunities

Gauteng recruitment covers several fields in selected municipalities. These include General Security Practices, Laboratory Assistance, Tracker Installation, Drone Pilot Training, and Domestic Appliance Repair. Each leads to formal jobs or other chances.

General Security Practices Learnership

This is a National Certificate at NQF Level 3. It lasts 12 months. You need to be 18 to 26 years old, have Grade 12, be medically fit, have no criminal record, speak and write English well, and be ready to move if needed. After finishing, you can get a job in security.

Laboratory Assistance Programme

Youth aged 18 to 35 with Grade 12 can apply. You must score 40% in Mathematics or 50% in Mathematical Literacy, 40% in Life Sciences, and 40% in English. Completion opens doors to formal employment.

Tracker Installation Short Skills Programme

For ages 18 to 35 with Grade 12. The program ends with formal job options.

Drone Pilot Short Skills Programme

Aimed at 18 to 35-year-olds with Grade 12, English Home Language, Mathematics, Computer subject, a driver’s licence, ability to drive a UDS Bakkie, and computer skills. It teaches drone tech for farming, mining, logistics, and security. Graduates find formal work.

Domestic Appliance Repair Programme

This National Certificate is at NQF Level 3. Targets 18 to 35-year-olds with Grade 12, Mathematics, and Physical Science. Basic electrical knowledge helps. Finishers get jobs or start their own businesses.

General Requirements

All applicants must be South African citizens with valid IDs, unemployed, not studying now, medically fit, and without criminal records. They should live in targeted municipalities or rural areas. The program welcomes rural youth, farm dwellers, people with disabilities, and all racial groups.

Municipalities Included

Opportunities are in Lesedi Local Municipality, Emfuleni Local Municipality, Midvaal Local Municipality, Merafong City Local Municipality, and City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality.

Required Documents

Submit a SAPS-certified Grade 12 certificate, ID copy, SARS Tax Number, proof of residence, and CV with two references. Certifications must be less than 6 months old.
