Programme Overview

Joburg City Theatres (JCT) runs this internship to help unemployed youth move from school to the workplace. You will work at Soweto Theatre in Jabulani or Joburg Theatre in Braamfontein. The stipend is R6,094 per month, but it comes without extra benefits. The programme ends on 24 April 2026 for applications.

Available Positions

JCT has two types of internships open.

Customer Services Intern

This role is at Soweto Theatre (Jabulani) with reference number CS/ST/04/2026. You will answer customer questions by phone, email, or in person. Other tasks include logging complaints, updating customer records in the CRM system, and preparing reports. You will also join training and team meetings, plus write monthly reports on your work. A diploma in Public Administration, Office Administration, or Business Administration fits best.

Information Technology Intern (Two Spots)

These positions are at Joburg Theatre (Braamfontein) with reference number IT/JT/04/2026. Duties cover fixing computer problems, installing software updates, and helping with account setups or password resets. You will troubleshoot internet issues, track IT equipment, and give basic tech help to staff. Look for applicants with diplomas in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Systems Support.

Minimum Requirements

All applicants must be South African citizens aged 18 to 35 and live in Johannesburg. You cannot have done a similar internship before. Submit all documents certified and complete.

For Customer Services:

  • Grade 12 certificate
  • Diploma in Public Administration or similar
  • Basic computer skills like MS Office and email

For IT Interns:

  • Grade 12 certificate
  • Diploma in Information Technology or similar
  • Basic computer skills like MS Office and email
