Learnership Overview
The eThekwini Municipal Academy runs this structured learnership. It targets youth aged 18 to 35 who live in the eThekwini area. Qualification You Will Gain
Finish the program with a Public Financial Management and Administration qualification at NQF Level 5. This opens doors to jobs like municipal administration assistant, finance clerk, billing assistant, revenue services clerk, data capture clerk, or meter administration officer. It builds a strong base for public sector careers.
Minimum Requirements
You must meet all these to apply. First, have a Grade 12 certificate with Mathematics or Accounting. You need a valid Code 8 or Code 10 driver’s licence. Be a South African citizen, unemployed, and between 18 and 35 years old. Live in eThekwini Municipality with proof. You cannot have done a similar program before.
What You Will Learn
Learners handle municipal finance systems, revenue and billing processes, data checks, and reporting. You practice customer account reconciliation, compliance, and admin tasks. The program also teaches communication, teamwork, time management, problem-solving, and professional behavior in government settings.
Driver’s Licence Requirement
A driver’s licence is required. The Meter Readings Division needs field work, so you must be able to drive for service tasks.
