The Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) is offering an exciting opportunity for young South Africans to gain valuable work experience through its Visual Merchandiser Learnership Programme for 2026. This learnership is designed to equip individuals with practical skills in merchandising, sales, and customer service within the fast-paced beverage industry. If you are a motivated and eager individual looking to start your career, this program could be the perfect stepping stone.

Understanding the CCBSA Visual Merchandiser Learnership

This 12-month learnership provides a structured environment for participants to learn the ropes of visual merchandising. Learners will gain hands-on experience in various aspects of retail execution, focusing on how products are presented to customers. The program aims to develop a well-rounded understanding of commercial strategies and customer engagement. Upon successful completion, learners will earn a qualification that requires a minimum of 120 credits, marking a significant achievement in their professional development.

Key Responsibilities in the Role

As a Visual Merchandiser Learner, your daily tasks will be varied and crucial to the success of in-store operations. You will be responsible for executing daily call schedules, ensuring that all visual merchandising standards are met. This includes managing stock rotation to keep products fresh and appealing, and arranging product displays to maximize visibility and availability on shelves. A key part of the role involves completing iRED surveys and execution scorecards, which help track performance and identify areas for improvement.

Beyond physical merchandising, you will also play a role in customer and sales support. This involves educating customers about the MyCCBA ordering platform, assisting with promotional activities to drive sales, and generally supporting customers and sales teams. Your efforts will directly contribute to a positive customer experience and efficient sales processes. Furthermore, you will provide operational support, which may include offering relief support when needed and working closely with Account Developers and Sales Teams to maintain brand standards and achieve business objectives.

Essential Minimum Requirements for Applicants

To be considered for the CCBSA Visual Merchandiser Learnership, candidates must meet several key criteria. A Grade 12 or Matric certificate is the foundational educational requirement. In terms of specific subjects, a pass in Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy with a minimum of 40% is necessary. Proficiency in English and a second South African language, also with a minimum of 40%, is required. Applicants must be South African citizens and fall within the age range of 18 to 35 years old. Crucially, candidates must be unemployed at the time of appointment and be available to work six days a week, reflecting the demands of the retail environment.

Additional Candidate Qualifications

Beyond the basic requirements, there are additional qualifications that will strengthen an application. Candidates must not have any criminal record or adverse credit history, and they must consent to background checks, including criminal, ID, and qualification verification. It is also important that applicants are not currently studying full-time or enrolled in another learnership program. Previous completion of the same learnership qualification will disqualify an applicant. Holding a Driver’s Licence and possessing a post-matric qualification in Sales & Marketing are considered advantageous and can significantly boost a candidate’s profile.

Necessary Application Documents

Prospective learners must prepare and submit a specific set of documents to support their application. A detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) is required, providing a summary of your educational background and any relevant experience. You will also need to provide a certified copy of your Matric certificate, confirming your educational qualifications. If you have any other relevant qualifications, certified copies of those must also be included. If you possess a Driver’s Licence, a copy of it should be submitted as well, as this is an advantageous document.

How to Submit Your Application

The application process is streamlined through online portals, with specific links provided for each learnership location. For the opportunity in Ermelo, Mpumalanga, interested individuals can apply online via the provided link. Similarly, for the learnership in Emondlo, Vryheid, KwaZulu-Natal, a separate online application link is available. It is important to ensure you are applying to the correct location as specified. Please note that application closing dates are critical, so ensure your submission is made before the deadline.
