Academic institutions play an important role in the advancement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by providing knowledge and expertise in key subject areas. In an effort to work effectively with the academic community, UNFPA created and formally launched a University Network (called TransformU) in March 2019.<\/p>\n

TransformU is a membership-based network that invites institutions of higher education, continuing education and educational associations to join UNFPA\u2019s vision to address UNFPA\u2019s transformative results. One of the key priorities for the TransformU network is to increase student awareness and engagement in UNFPA\u2019s work. As part of UNFPA\u2019s efforts to increase student awareness and engagement, TransformU is launching a student-focused online challenge on bodyright set to launch during the 16 Days of Activism in November 2024.<\/p>\n

TransformU Student Bodyright Campaign<\/strong><\/h3>\n
UNFPA\u2019s Division of Communications and Strategic Partnerships is launching a social media challenge for students of universities globally, including but not limited to individual students, youth associations, student groups and networks, and youth advocacy groups to develop creative and engaging content on the theme of body right. The challenge will serve to create awareness on the issues related to online violence against women and girls. The winner will have the chance to win an all-expenses-paid trip to New York City to attend a global advocacy event at the UN Secretariat. Details on how to participate below.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/h3>\n
\n
The challenge is open to registered students at the university level globally.<\/li>\n
Students must be able to prove their affiliation to a university or institution of higher learning by submitting their proof of registration where required.<\/li>\n
Participants are allowed to submit multiples entries<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

\nChallenge prize<\/strong><\/p>\n
\n
One student participant from the challenge will be selected as the winner of the challenge. As a reward, the winner will receive:<\/li>\n
Two round-trip tickets to New York City<\/li>\n
Hotel accommodation for two in New York City<\/li>\n
Two tickets to an exclusive event taking place at the United Nations in 2024<\/li>\n
Coverage of Visa application fee costs<\/li>\n
Repost of winning content and recognition on UNFPA\u2019s social media platforms<\/li>\n
Winners will be announced in January 2024<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Please note that the grand prize is conditional on the winner being eligible to receive a United States Visa<\/p>\n
How to Enter<\/p>\n

To enter the challenge, students are required to post a photo or reel to social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Tiktok and Twitter), reflecting their creative expression of the bodyright campaign. The post is required to raise awareness on the issue of online abuse, bodily autonomy and the bodyright campaign.<\/li>\n
Submissions can include original multimedia content sharing information about bodyright or the topic of online abuse affecting young people. Participants are encouraged to create content that is creative, innovative and engaging on any aspect of the bodyright campaign.<\/li>\n
Post(s) can include photos, videos, skits, coffee art, illustrations, animations, etc. or any form of creative expression about bodyright and online abuse more broadly.<\/li>\n
Content should ideally reference information from the bodyright campaign and\/or feature the bodyright logo.<\/li>\n
Content must be unique and the original work of the student submitting the entry<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

The challenge will take place on social media platforms including Instagram; Twitter and Facebook.<\/li>\n
All entry posts must include a tag of the @UNFPA account and include these two hashtags:#bodyright#bodyrightchallenge<\/li>\n
