After you qualify and register with the\u00a0SANC<\/strong>, you can choose to work in any number of places, but if you want to\u00a0study further<\/strong>, you can study a\u00a0master’s degree<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0advanced diploma<\/strong>\u00a0in nursing and you can register as an advanced practice nurse. There are\u00a0two main categories<\/strong>\u00a0of advanced practice nurses:<\/p>\n

- Clinical nurse specialists:\u00a0<\/strong>People who have\u00a0in-depth and specialized qualifications<\/strong>\u00a0who work closely and collaboratively with other medical practitioners.<\/li>\n
- Advanced nurse practitioner:\u00a0<\/strong>A\u00a0person who works in\u00a0primary care<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 health assessment and the diagnosis and treatment of ailments. In South Africa, advanced nurse practitioners are often referred to as primary health care nurses and they can work as midwives, psychiatric and pediatric nurses outside of the hospital environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
How to use the Reference Deposit Account to pay Fees or Fines owed to the\u00a0South African Nursing Council<\/h2>\n
No matter what method of payment you choose, albeit at an FNB branch or some form of electronic banking, you must please ensure that the deposit reference is correctly filled in.\u00a0 The reference consists of two parts:<\/p>\n

- Your SANC account number (8 digits); and<\/li>\n
- A payment type code (7 CAPITAL LETTERS) \u2013 written immediately after the account number.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

PLEASE NOTE that the above reference is only an example and you should not use the above details for making any payment (it will be rejected by the bank).<\/u><\/b>\u00a0 You must use your own reference number as the account number and choose the appropriate payment type code from the list given below.<\/p>\n
STEP 1:<\/strong>\u00a0 Check and write down your SANC account number.\u00a0 This is the same as your SANC reference number which is always 8 digits long and starts with a \u20181\u2019.<\/p>\n
STEP 2:<\/strong>\u00a0 Determine the appropriate payment type code from the list below and write it immediately after your SANC account number.\u00a0 Do\u00a0NOT<\/b>\u00a0leave a space between your account number and the payment type code<\/p>\n
