When you register for a Learnership Programme you will receive training towards a full qualification but you don’t have to pay study fees. In fact, when you register for a Learnership you will be paid in the form of a stipend. This means you will be paid monthly while you are on the leadership – the amount you will be paid depends on the academic level of the Learnership.

Wits Health HUBB Learnerships Programme Details

Interested applicants can apply for the Wits Health HUBB Learnership 2022 provided they qualify and meet the program requirements.

Wits Health HUBB” (WHH) : Learnership Programme 2021 / 2022

In partnership with our training partner Kunokhanya Training Academy, we are looking for 30 hardworking and passionate young people to be trained as Community Health Workers who will contribute to the health of their community. At the end of 12 months trainees will obtain an NQF, level 3, Health Promotion Officer (HPO) qualification (SAQA ID No: 94597).

During the COVID-19 national lockdown, the recruitment and training will be conducted online and in person. Please apply if you are comfortable with this mode of learning.

Requirements:

  • Youth between 18-35 years old
  • Residing in Soweto
  • Not in Employment, Education, or training
  • Must have a Grade12/Matric Qualification OR Community Health Work NQF Level 3 or Primary Health Care (National Certificate Vocational 3)
  • Be willing to commit to the programme for the full duration of 12 months

Competencies:

  • Computer literate (This may be assessed during the recruitment process)
  • Learners must be adequately mobile to execute the work within a community
  • Learners must have adequate visual and hearing capacity to master the skills envisaged
  • Previous experience in health, counseling or community work is an advantage but not a necessity
