When you register for a Learnership Programme you will receive training towards a full qualification but you don’t have to pay study fees. In fact, when you register for a Learnership you will be paid in the form of a stipend. This means you will be paid monthly while you are on the leadership – the amount you will be paid depends on the academic level of the Learnership.

SA Weather Service Learnerships Programme Details

Interested applicants can apply for the SA Weather Service Learnership 2022 provided they qualify and meet the program requirements.

The South African Weather Service invites graduates who are in possession of a three year BSc degree with suitable major subjects such as Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, and Physics,  Oceanography or Meteorological related subjects, to apply for a bursary to undergo a one year course in basic meteorology. The minimum requirements are Mathematics on level 2 and Physics on level 1. The course will include a range of meteorological courses. The students will study at the University of Pretoria. This course will start in February 2019. On successful completion of the course selected students will have an opportunity to study the BSc meteorology Honours course and the post graduate certificate in Weather Forecasting.

Requirements:

  • BSc degree with suitable major subjects such as Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Oceanography or Meteorological related subjects.
  • Mathematics on level 2 and Physics on level 1
