The Records Management Consultant will provide technical and functional solutions to public sector clients in the analysis of complex customer content and information requirements in order to provide Records Management/Electronic Document Management solutions based on our unique ECM product.

This will include the coordination of pre-sales activities around definition of the requirements, post-sales transition and participation in projects and deployment of the proposed solution.

Perform a variety of analytical and administrative duties involved in the development, implementation, and administration of a records management program.

Contribute to the development and implementation of records management procedures and policies.

Deliver records management briefings to clients regarding record management policies and procedures.

Pre-sales, tenders and account management: Participate in sales account planning and sales strategy development, be responsible for tender submissions and account management of clients.

Training: training end-users/clients on how to follow established records and information management guidelines, policies and retention schedules.

Owns and produces customer documentation. Translate technical details into concise and easy to understand written form. Write relevant components of a proposal document (e.g. answer specific RFP questions and tenders).

Translate verbal requirements from face to face client meetings into requirements documents, statements of work, and proposals.

Discuss (within own area of expertise) requirements with a customer, and to challenge and clarify when appropriate.

From the requirements, develop a high-level design or plan, and then estimate the amount of effort required to deliver as well as the costs involved.

Minimum of 5 year’s Record Management work related experience.

Strong BPM and business re-engineering skills.

A solid grasp of technology and knowledge of software industry relating to all aspects of ECM and Records / Electronic Document Management solutions.

Must have demonstrated knowledge of content management concepts and best practices.

Exhibits a good understanding of records management instructions, regulations, policies, directives, and procedures.

Must have a good understanding of scanning and document preservation, document management software, and the workflow management system.

Understand how to set up and maintain a filing and retrieval system.

Ability to perform/drive resolution of problems on combinations and interactions of products.

Ability to apply technology and consulting to solve a client’s business problem.

Ability to communicate and present complex issues with assurance and confidence.

Demonstrates the use of consulting skills including: questioning, listening, ideas development, permission and rapport, and influencing.

Ability to conduct/lead oral status/technical interchange meetings with clients on projects.

Training of end-users/clients on how to follow established records and information management guidelines, policies and retention schedules.

Excellent solution selling experience and have a value based selling approach.

Must have a valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle.

Be willing to travel locally within South Africa.
