The Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun (FUPRE) screening requirements are essential for candidates seeking admission for the upcoming academic session. This guide provides clear information for prospective students, parents, and guardians on what is needed for the FUPRE screening process. Applicants should pay close attention to these requirements to ensure a smooth application journey.

What Are the FUPRE Screening Requirements?

The Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun (FUPRE) has specific requirements for candidates who wish to be screened for admission. These requirements are designed to ensure that only qualified individuals are considered for admission into the various programmes offered by the university. Meeting these criteria is the first step after successfully applying for admission.

Who Can Apply for FUPRE Screening?

To be eligible for FUPRE’s screening exercise, candidates must have participated in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and chosen FUPRE as their first or second choice institution. Additionally, candidates must meet the minimum UTME score set by the university for their chosen course. Those who did not initially choose FUPRE but wish to be considered can effect a change of institution through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) portal.

FUPRE Post UTME Eligibility

Candidates applying for the Post UTME screening at FUPRE must have obtained the minimum score stipulated by the university in the UTME. This cut-off mark can vary slightly each academic session and across different courses. It is important for applicants to verify the specific cut-off mark for their desired programme on the official FUPRE website or through official announcements.

Direct Entry Eligibility for FUPRE

For candidates seeking admission through Direct Entry, they must possess a minimum of Upper Credit in the National Diploma (ND) or equivalent, or a good grade in the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) or IJMB. These qualifications must be in relevant fields of study. Direct Entry applicants also need to have applied through JAMB for Direct Entry admission and selected FUPRE as their preferred institution.

What Documents Are Needed for FUPRE Screening?

Candidates are required to present a set of original and photocopies of documents during the FUPRE screening exercise. These typically include:

  • UTME Result Slip: The original and photocopies of your JAMB UTME score.
  • O’Level Results: Original and photocopies of your Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) results (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB). This includes results for at least five relevant subjects.
  • JAMB Admission Letter: The official admission letter from JAMB.
  • FUPRE Screening Form: A completed copy of the FUPRE screening application form.
  • Passport Photographs: A number of recent passport-sized photographs.

  • Indigene Certificate: A certificate showing your state of origin.
  • Testimonial: A testimonial from your secondary school.

It is advisable for candidates to confirm the exact number of passport photographs and any other specific documents required for the current screening exercise from the university’s official channels.
