The National Department of Health is offering a valuable opportunity for unemployed South African graduates to gain practical experience through its Graduate Internship Programme. This 24-month initiative, running from 2026 to 2028, aims to equip participants with essential workplace skills and occupational training across various departments. Understanding the Internship Programme

This program is designed for individuals who are unemployed and hold a relevant qualification. It provides a structured environment for learning and development, focusing on enhancing employability within the public service. It is important to note that those who have already participated in a similar internship program will not be considered for this opportunity. The program offers a monthly stipend of R8,174.78 to support interns during their tenure.

Human Resources Management and Development Internship (X4 Posts)

For those with a background in Human Resources Management or Human Resources Development, four positions are available. These roles will provide hands-on experience in managing and developing the department’s workforce. The reference number for these positions is NDOH 30/2026.

Organisational Development Internship (X1 Post)

One internship is open in Organisational Development. This role is suited for graduates with qualifications in Management Services, Operations Management, or Production Management. The reference number is NDOH 31/2026.

Employment Relations Internship (X1 Post)

General Requirements for Applicants

To be eligible for any of these internship positions, applicants must meet several general requirements. They must be unemployed South African graduates who have completed Grade 12 (NQF 4) and hold the specific qualification mentioned for the desired internship. Crucially, applicants must not have participated in a previous internship program and must demonstrate a genuine interest in gaining public service work experience.
