Are you a young person in rural KwaZulu-Natal looking for a chance to build skills and serve your community? The NARYSEC Firefighter & Traffic Officer Trainee Programme 2026 offers unemployed youth a path to training in key public safety roles. Run by the Department of Land Reform and Rural Development, this programme targets residents of Johannes Phumani Phungula Local Municipality.
About the NARYSEC Programme
The National Rural Youth Service Corps (NARYSEC) helps young people in rural areas gain skills through training and community work. It supports the National Development Plan Vision 2030 by building skilled youth, boosting economic roles, and backing youth-led projects. If selected, you start with a 9-week induction and youth leadership course, then move to hands-on training and service.
