Internship Overview
The Council for Geoscience has three internship spots open in human resources. These fixed-term positions last 24 months and pay a monthly stipend of R13,000. Key Responsibilities
Interns will support various HR tasks to build practical skills.
Recruitment Support
You will screen job applications, schedule interviews, and prepare recruitment packs. Tasks also include helping with onboarding and pre-employment checks. This role lets you see the full hiring process up close.
HR Administration
Expect to assist with payroll and employee benefits. You will maintain HR records, file documents, and organize meetings or events. Keeping everything organized is a big part of this work.
Learning and Development

Employee Relations
Deal with HR matters for staff and aid workplace engagement activities. This builds your people skills.
Project Support

Quality Assurance

Minimum Requirements
To apply, you need a Grade 12 certificate. A National Diploma at NQF Level 6 in Human Resources Management, Human Resources Development, or a related field is required. No work experience is needed.
You should know basics of laws like the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Labour Relations Act, Employment Equity Act, and Skills Development Act.
Required Skills
Bring strong organization and deadline skills. Good communication, analytical thinking, and attention to detail matter. Be computer literate with MS Office and have solid interpersonal skills. A willingness to learn goes a long way.
