Internship Overview

The GEPFuture Internship Programme gives graduates hands-on work in key areas of a major pension fund. It helps build skills in finance and risk management. Participants get exposure to public sector operations over nearly two years.

Available Internship Fields

GEPF offers two main internship fields. Each one needs specific qualifications at NQF Level 7.

Finance Intern

You need a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, or an Advanced Diploma in Accounting. Send your application to [email protected]. Use the subject line “Application: Finance Intern”.

This role lets you work on financial tasks in a pension fund setting. It builds practical skills for future jobs.

Risk Management Intern

Qualify with a Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Risk Management or Internal Auditing. Email your application to the same address as Finance Intern.

Here, you gain experience in managing risks and audits. It is ideal for those interested in protecting fund operations.

Minimum Requirements

Meet these basics to apply:

  • South African citizen aged 18-35 years.
  • Completed 3-year Degree or Advanced Diploma (NQF Level 7).
  • At least 60% average for undergraduate, or 55% for postgraduate.
  • Include your academic averages on your CV.

These rules ensure applicants are ready for the program.

Important Conditions

Some people cannot apply. Those with prior internships or work experience in the field will not qualify. Students still finishing their studies should wait.

GEPF prefers candidates with disabilities and those from previously disadvantaged institutions. This helps promote fairness.
