What is ASEFYLS?

The ASEF Young Leaders Summit, or ASEFYLS, connects young people from Asia and Europe. It builds a network of leaders who think about self-leadership, team leadership, and leadership for society. The ASEFYLS 2026 Capacity Training teaches tools for curiosity, new ideas, and understanding different cultures. Participants learn to create fair and lasting change.

Programme Theme: Anticipatory Leadership for a Human-Centred Future

This year’s theme is “Anticipatory Leadership for a Human-Centred Future.” You will study trends and early signs of change. The program covers strategic foresight and systems thinking. It also looks at ethics in new tech like AI. Leaders learn to include everyone and focus on sustainability.

What to Expect in ASEFYLS 2026

The ASEFYLS 2026 Capacity Training runs from June to November 2026. It has three main parts.

1. Training Phase (Online)

From 9 June to 30 July 2026, join online sessions. Plan for about 4 hours each week. Cover anticipatory leadership, systems thinking, and foresight tools. Discuss how tech affects ethical leadership.

2. Action Phase (Local Implementation)

From August to November 2026, plan events in your area. Share what you learned. Turn ideas into real community actions.

3. Optional In-Person Training (Selected Participants)

Called “Asia-Europe Youth Leadership Training: Anticipatory Leadership in the Arctic.” It happens in Tromsø, Norway, from 23 to 29 August 2026. Top 40 active participants get picked. Study the Arctic as an example. Enjoy talks and cultural exchanges.

Eligibility Criteria

You must meet these rules:

  • Come from an Asian or European country.
  • Be 18 to 30 years old. Students or young workers qualify.
  • Take part in youth or student groups.
  • Show leadership and community work.
  • Speak English well.

They pick based on your drive, past leadership, and power to help your community.
