RWJF Call for Proposals 2026: Up to $500K for Health Equity Projects
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Call for Proposals 2026 offers a chance for groups to win up to $500,000. This funding aims to build better health systems in the U.S. by learning from other countries. If you work on health equity, this could help your project make real change.
What the Call for Proposals Covers
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) wants to fight structural racism and barriers to health equity. They support projects that use ideas from outside the U.S. to improve health knowledge here. These projects focus on community-led work to create, save, and share stories about health. The goal is a stronger system that helps during crises and supports justice and well-being for all.
RWJF plans to fund up to 15 projects. Each award can reach $500,000, but ask only for what you need. This lets them support more groups. Larger grants might cover salaries for several people or multiple activities.
Who Can Apply
U.S.-based organizations or those in U.S. territories can apply. Teams with U.S. and international members are welcome, as long as the work improves health equity in the U.S. Projects only outside the U.S. do not qualify.
RWJF encourages leaders from diverse backgrounds, like Indigenous, Black, Latino, LGBTQ+, immigrants, and other marginalized groups. They do not pick or reject based on race, gender, or other traits. New groups to RWJF get priority. If your organization got RWJF funds since January 1, 2021, you cannot apply, even through a fiscal sponsor.
No biomedical, clinical, or lab science projects qualify. You can use a fiscal sponsor for money management if needed. International groups can apply and might get funds through the RWJF Global Ideas Fund.
