When you register for a Learnership Programme you will receive training towards a full qualification but you don’t have to pay study fees. In fact, when you register for a Learnership you will be paid in the form of a stipend. This means you will be paid monthly while you are on the leadership – the amount you will be paid depends on the academic level of the Learnership.

Sibanye Stillwater Learnerships Programme Details

Sibanye Stillwater: Learnership Programme 2022

Discipline Specific Requirements:

  • Plater/ Welder Level-3 – required qualification subjects: N2 Mathematics, N2 Engineering Science, N2 Plating & Structural Steel Drawings, N2 Platers Trade Theory.
  • Diesel Mechanic Level-3 – required qualification subjects: N2 Mathematics, N2 Engineering Science, N2 Diesel Trade Theory, and N2 Engineering Drawings.
  • Rigger/ Ropes man Level-3 – required qualification subject: N2 Mathematics, N2 Engineering Science, N2 Engineering Drawings, N2 Rigger Trade Theory.
  • Plater/ Welder Level-3 – required qualification subjects: N2 Mathematics, N2 Engineering Science, N2 Plating Structural Steel Drawings, N2 Platers Trade Theory.
  • Diesel Mechanic Level-3 – required qualification subjects: N2 Mathematics, N2 Engineering Science, N2 Diesel Trade Theory, and N2 Engineering Drawing.
  • Instrumentation Mechanician Level-4 – required qualification subjects: N2 Mathematics, N2 Engineering Science, N2 Industrial Electronics, and N2 Instrument Trade Theory.

Entry Level Requirements:

  • Have the relevant minimum N2 qualifications to be considered in the above-mentioned engineering trade for which the application is made.
  • Be recommended based on interview outcomes
  • Obtain a Protection Services clearance certificate
  • Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye-Stillwater Occupational Health Care Centre

Key responsibilities:

  • Applicants will need to undergo an interview process and psychometric assessment, which will be considered during allocation of learnerships.
  • All entry-level requirements to be met before applicant will be considered.
  • Applicants in possession of a Section 28 or 26D Trade Certificates will not be considered including another Learnership
  • Incomplete applications will not be considered for selection

NB. Pre-screening and psychometric evaluation may form part of the selection process. Short listed candidates will be requested to attend a panel interview. Applicants who receive no response to their applications within 30 days may consider their application for the position to be unsuccessful.
